Becoming a Parent - ART in Victoria

From 2010, same-sex couples are able to use IVF and other assisted reproductive services in Victoria to become pregnant. Self-insemination is also now legal.

Birth Certificates

Go to the Victorian Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages website - Go to the Births section and see the pages 'Registering a Birth' to register a birth or 'Correcting a Birth Certificate' to add a non-birth mother to a birth certificate.


Donor Treatment Registers

For details on the Donor Treatment Registers including the Central Register and the Voluntary Register go to Victorian Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages Donor Treatment Registers page.
