Proudly produced by the Rainbow Families Council 2010. Changes to Victorian Laws: Assisted Reproduction, Birth Registration

In 2008, the Victorian Government changed the laws to allow same-sex couples to use fertility treatment clinics, and to legally recognise our families. The changes came into effect on January 1, 2010. Read more on our page Victorian Law Reforms

 

Changes to Centrelink and Medicare - 2009

The Federal Government has introduced changes to law that removes discrimination against same-sex couples and their children from a wide range of Commonwealth laws and programs (including social security and medicare). These changes may affect members of same-sex couples who receive Centrelink payments. They also mean that same-sex couples and children can register as a family for Medicare. See our page on Federal Law Reforms

 

Becoming a Parent: Assisted Reproductive Treatment in Victoria
